Let's Go!

#letsgotupelo

The local church's mission isn’t just for pastors, evangelists, and missionaries. Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19, “Go, therefore, and make disciples,” is for every Christian everywhere.
It’s not the Great Suggestion. It’s the Great Commission. It’s a command.
The Great Commission is not optional. Jesus said to go, which means it’s a command. As followers of Jesus, this is the most loving thing we can share with someone.
SHARING THE GOOD NEWS IS LOVING PEOPLE.
John 13:34 says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (ESV).
SHARING THE GOOD NEWS IS OBEYING JESUS.
Jesus said, ‘Go!’ That isn’t a suggestion and only if you feel like it. It’s a command. Jesus tells us in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (ESV). If so many are so-called “followers of Jesus” why do they miss this command but acknowledge others? When we share the Good News of the gospel it’s both loving others and obeying Jesus!
SHARING THE GOOD NEWS IS KINGDOM LIVING.
As Christians, we are in the world but not of the world. When we share the Good News with others we are living with Kingdom-first. Philippians 3:20 says, “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (ESV). The reason why the Great Commission is Kingdom living is that Kingdom living is living with others first! We don’t focus on ourselves but on the needs of others.

It’s a win-win, when we go and do what Jesus commanded!
When we do, WE ARE LOVING JESUS,  LOVING PEOPLE,  and LIVING WITH A KINGDOM MENTALITY.
